About Us
Owner Masaaki Shimasue, has been in the guitar business since 1986 and has extensive knowledge in both vintage and luthier made guitars. He opened Blue-G in Tokyo in 1997, and the shop has quickly become the leading boutique guitar shop for acoustic guitars. A new and larger store opened in 2003 in the middle of Ochanomizue, Tokyo's busy music district. The shop is known for its fine collection of vintage Martin, Gibson, Larson Bros., etc. The shop also employs a full time repair person, and all of our guitars are adjusted to the best possible condition. We are also known for our collection of fine luthier made guitars from the U.S., Canada, Germany and South Africa. We represent the following fine luthiers:
U.S. Julius Borges, Merrill & Co., Kim Walker, Taku Sakashta, Roy McAlister, Ed Claxton, Michi Matsuda, Kent Hamblin, Mike Baranik, Steve Kovacik,
Canada Sergei de Jonge, Grit Laskin, Mario Beauregard, Fabrizio Alberico,
Germany Blazer & Henkes,
South Africa Marc Maingard.
We always have a wide selection of these fine luthiers' guitars, and other hard to find luthier guitars. We can also custom order from these luthiers, to build your dream guitar! We are in the “Golden Age of guitar building” and are proud to represent these fine luthiers in Japan. We invite you to stop by, and see for yourself what makes our shop and guitars so special!
